Waziri Mustapha Bintube
Waziri Bintube is the Chief Financial Officer and Head of the Finance Department in the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc. Prior to joining NBET he was Group Head, Construction and Infrastructure, Institutional Banking Group at leading Nigerian financial services group, Firstbank Nigeria. Since joining the Firstbank in 1999, Waziri has provided leadership and direction to the bank’s Corporate Banking team for Northern Nigeria inclusive of Abuja before being tasked with establishing the bank’s South African operations in 2003, a position he held for 7 years before returning to Nigeria in Jan 2011.
With over two decades experience in Corporate and Investment banking within emerging markets, Waziri started his banking career with Citibank before moving to Nigerian affiliate of FirstBoston bank, Nigerian-American Merchant bank (NAMBL) where he worked variously as Corporate Relationship Manager, Head of Northern Area and later as Head of the bank’s Public Sector unit.
A keen change enthusiast, Waziri is an alumnus of the University of Maiduguri and an MBA Degree holder from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the UK (FCCA) and a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He has attended numerous management development programs in Huddersfield University, Manchester Business School and Cranfield University, UK.
